DaFiNs were created in Hawaii with input from world renowned torpedo man; Mark Cunningham. DaFiN swim fins combine comfort with construction, to create a swim fin that performs under both casual and extreme conditions.
DaFiNs’ side rails, or strakes are rock solid, and run about 50 percent down the length of the length of the fin, at which point they angle back to the blade. This design encourages the fin to flex at it’s most critical point. The raised v-shape foot pocket combined with a rigid blade, work together at the point of flex. This creates maximum acceleration of the water flowing over the fin surface, and results in more thrust per kick…with less effort. For such a powerful fin, it is unusually light in weight. DaFiN floats in the ocean and there is no right or left foot difference so DaFiN can be worn on either foot.

DaFiN was developed by Andy Cochran, an Aussie who has made Hawaii his home for the past 30 years.
Cochran had been a lifeguard at Australia ‘s famous Bondi Beach and was one of Oz’s early surfing pioneers. With input from world renowned pros in Hawaii such as Mark Cunningham and Brian Keaulana, Cochran developed his idea for a high performance swim fin about 10 years ago and was granted a U.S. Patent for his unique design.
DaFiN soon became standard issue equipment for the Hawaiian Lifeguard Association. In 2006 DaFiN was endorsed by the United States Lifesaving Association, the premier professional association of beach lifeguards and open water rescuers in the United States. DaFiN is now used by more than 60 municipal lifeguard and fire/rescue agencies in the US and by the Junior Lifeguard programs of the USLA.
DaFiN has earned its reputation with strong endorsements from the world’s best watermen and has become the #1 choice of lifeguards, bodysurfers, and top watermen around the world.
